OUR MISSION

At InspireMent, we offer free after-school care at public schools across the county, through clubs, rec sports, and tutoring sessions led by trained high-performing high school students. We believe that by creating positive mentor relationships, we can push education quality to the threshold.After-school care is not always available to those who need it the most. In Arlington, a county that boasts some of the best education programs in the nation, extended day waitlists were at an all time high. This means that parents with busy full-day jobs were affected the most, along with those who were unable to afford full priced care programs. We seek to change that. Every student should have access to positive academic role models and a place to relax after school. We prioritize program admissions for students who are waitlisted for scholarship-based after school care, students whose families can't afford the fees asked by schools. Our InspireMentors are trained to guide younger students through fun activities that nurture independence, community, and personal growth. We offer a variety of clubs to appeal to the interests of every kid that crosses our path.InspireMent is a student-led organization centered in Northern Arlington, meaning our immediate reach isn't as wide as we strive for. However, we still aim to fulfill our mission of accessible education to the best of our abilities. Each May, we run an annual backpack drive, where community members across Arlington donate lightly used and new backpacks. These backpacks are then filled with the complete list of brand-new school supplies that students need to start the year strong. We donate backpacks to low income kids all over Baltimore, kids whose families would otherwise be unable to afford the materials their students need and deserve. This year, we aim to provide the full roster of supplies to over 60 kids in Baltimore. Our ultimate goal is to implement our programs in mainly low-income areas. By supporting us, you can help us achieve that goal!

VOLUNTEER

We are currently accepting high performing high school students in commuting distance of Arlington to volunteer at our programs. Volunteers must complete an APS volunteer application in order to volunteer with InspireMent, and provide proof of a current GPA that is over or equivalent to a 3.0. Expect a response in about 1-2 weeks. If you go to a school that has an InspireMent chapter, reach out to your chapter president through the contact page!

If you or your organization would like to sponsor us, please feel free to fill out the form below or contact us directly through the contact page.
